ZERO EMISSION HOUSING TAKES OFF 2005

 

The Beddington Zero Energy Development, or BedZED for short, in south London, looks a little like a Lego 'toy-town' village. The buildings have a unique roof shape, not unlike an aeroplane wing, and they're topped by tall brightly coloured exhaust vents. But the 'toy-town' exterior hides a very high tech interior, as John Fitzgerald discovered.
